    Serious HP Loss in Colloseum

I am Luminary lvl 1250 something. When I farm someone in colloseum, I have more colly power but boy even though I'm winning I lose so much HP, for example I attack for 300 hp and lose 2-3k! We both wear Hlaar set, so why do I take so much damage and how to decrease it?..

Increase your defense or add in some deflect equipment. It's something like 50 points of defense per deflect point, I think.

It gets worse the higher up you go

Rather than use four sets of Hlaar my other gears gives a slightly stronger power overall, so I take lots of big hits, the upside is my targets last longer

So when they will attack me, they will also deal 300 dmg and lose 2k?

No. Also, though you can see their gear, you don't know what stats they have. Someone could conceivably have much more defense than you and thus take less damage, but still have worse stats overall and lose the match. Does anyone know the exact formula for damage/deflect?

have kind of wondered how it really works myself. it normally seems like when I take the 10% attack and defense boost potions before doing the PvP I end up taking more damage than normal even though my defense is boosted.

I haven't rigorously tested damage and deflect, but damage seems to be based on your attack, and deflect based on your defense, with health not playing into those two. Plus whatever damage/deflect bonuses your gear has. So potting up ought to increase your damage/deflect.

The damage you take uses your deflect vs your opponent's damage, but it's a variable amount, just like raid damage is variable (could use the same +/- 12%, haven't tested that either).

The damage you do to your opponent uses your damage vs your opponent's deflect, again with variability.

So because of the variability, you could actually do less and take more damage after potting.
