Lore: How do world raids play into the story?

Non-technical question. How do world raids play into the lore? Is the previous Kessov (the one with D'rach) "gone" (since it's evolved to the winter kessov).

Are kryk, slur, (and soon to be echidna) actually "dead", or just merely defeated?

In theory they're dead, but as with regular raids they'll keep coming back for gameplay reasons.

"...the game in general seems to have a wanton disregard for human life."

Well Enchilada is the mother of all dragons. It all started when Dahrizon and Lena went to Taco Escabar's for lunch and the enchiladas were too spicy for Dahrizon to handle. All afternoon he spent on the toilet creating Rhal, Nimrod, Tene, Erebrus... etc.

jk I don't know but am curious myself.
